Individual Giving Associate

Collaborating with the Institutional Advancement team, the Individual Giving Associate is responsible for growing the pipeline of individual donors and service volunteers to better facilitate the goal of broadening the base of philanthropic support. This individual will provide strategic design, implementation, and management of a comprehensive program to build relationships needed to secure support from individual donors, volunteers and other entities and apply mission-focused strategies to grow philanthropic support through established and innovative methods.       Responsibilities:
  • Manage the annual individual giving component of the Institutional Advancement Office; identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual gifts from donors, managing direct mail campaigns, donor cultivation events, and other tasks to support revenue stream
  • Establish and track a set of metric-based strategies to increase the number of new individual donors and increase the dollar amount that existing donors contribute.
  • Create mission-based, donor-centric appeals and recognition strategies distributed through a variety of channels including personal contacts, direct mail, social media and other correspondence.
  • Work with the VP and Institutional Advancement team to develop a pipeline of major gift prospects and donors
  • Develop and implement strategies to convert event attendees into individual donors
  • Manage individual giving budget, ensuring costs are kept within budgeted resources
  • Maintain the integrity of all records, including donors, prospects, volunteers, and other friends of the organization
  • Enter data into Raisers Edge in timely and accurate manner
  • Run reports and queries
  • Prepare acknowledgement letters in a timely manner
  • Provide technical support
  • Serve as staff liaison to affinity groups
  • Coordinate annual holiday toy drive and organize mission-based need drives (for example, diaper drives, back-to-school drives, etc.)
  • Cultivate, solicit and steward volunteer groups
    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor' s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field
  • Two years’ experience with a fundraising, marketing, or communications team (Experience marketing to donor audiences preferred)
  • Fluency and current proficiency using Raisers Edge database
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, and InDesign applications
  • Proven track record of effectively balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and time management skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically and adhere to multiple deadlines
