The Benefits Verification Specialist provides support to the Admissions Department Staff under the supervision of the Program Director or designee.   Perks Include:

  Responsibilities:
  • Maintains patient account files
  • Checking benefits and financial responsibility of potential and current patients
  • Reviewing financial responsibilities to facilitate collections with new, current, and former clients, in person, over the phone, and in writing
  • Communicating benefits to staff and families
  • Ensuring admissions is collecting what the benefits designate as patient responsibility
  Qualifications:
  • 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in a hospital or medical office setting
  • Knowledge of MS Office and medical billing software
  • Bachelor' s Degree or equivalent
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
  • Strong customer service skills in both in person and over the phone
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced, team environment
