Overview: Primary responsibility will be to provide office support to faculty and staff. This involves scheduling, attending meetings and providing general assistance to the Department Chair and the Business Manager. Other duties will include student and faculty relations, event planning, and developing marketing materials.   The successful candidate will:
  • First point of contact for all visitors, alumni, and students, as well as telephone and email queries
  • Coordinate course registration and schedule
  • Facilitate student paperwork and degree completion
  • Support college advising and programmatic initiatives
  • Assist student organizations with mailings, events, and activities
  • Provide guidance to faculty and students on all departmental, college, and university policies/procedures
  • Event planning and scheduling, including securing rooms, contracts, and catering
  • Handel marketing efforts, including maintaining department website
  • Assist with department orders and financial documents
  • Other tasks as necessary
  • Bachelor’ s degree and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Combination of experience and an Associate’ s Degree would be considered in lieu of Bachelor’ s
  • Experience in an academic setting and knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
